What is included in your gel manicure?
This is a complete appointment for your natural nails. Valentyna removes existing gel polish where needed, carries out a detailed manicure, and applies a base, your chosen gel polish colour and a top coat.
The manicure is a separate preparation stage. Using specialist tools and e-file bits, Valentyna carefully cleans the nail and cuticle area and trims the cuticle with scissors where appropriate. This preparation helps create a neat finish and supports gel polish adhesion.

Careful removal before your fresh application
Removal does not always mean filing every trace of product back to the bare natural nail. Valentyna removes lifting and unnecessary material while leaving a thin layer of securely attached product to minimise over-filing of the natural nail plate.
If your gel polish was applied at another salon, she first checks the existing product before working on it. If you have a different type of nail enhancement or are unsure what is on your nails, contact Valentyna before booking so she can advise on the appropriate appointment.
Gel polish or hard gel extensions?
A gel manicure is a good option when you want colour or a design while keeping your natural nail length. Hard gel extensions are a different appointment for clients who want to add length.

Expect well-maintained natural nails, a clean and neat cuticle area, and your chosen colour or design. The aim is a natural-looking finish that keeps your own nail length, with careful preparation and attention to detail.
Wear is typically around 3–4 weeks, although this varies with nail growth, natural nail condition and lifestyle. Some clients prefer a refresh after two weeks.

Before and after your appointment
Before your visit
Avoid applying cuticle oil or a rich hand cream to your nails and cuticles immediately before your appointment. Please also avoid doing your own manicure just beforehand, as this can leave the skin and cuticles irritated.
Looking after your manicure
Use cuticle oil daily and moisturise your hands with hand cream. Avoid using your nails to open packaging, pick at things or scrape surfaces. Do not peel or pull off your gel polish.
When to return
Valentyna usually recommends a refresh every 3–4 weeks, depending on nail growth and how comfortable you feel with the regrowth. Some clients prefer an earlier appointment. If the product starts lifting, contact her rather than waiting for your usual maintenance date.
Before booking
Valentyna may postpone treatment if there are signs of infection, lifting of the natural nail plate, unusual nail changes, or very irritated or damaged skin and cuticles. Very thin or damaged natural nails may also need a break from gel polish. Contact her if you have concerns about suitability; assessment by an appropriate specialist may be needed before treatment.
